Montacute W.I.

Meet in Montacute Village Hall on the 1st Tuesday of the month, March to July and September to December.  There are speakers each month who talk on a wide range of topics and we organise our own social events around the village.  We take an interest in public affairs, science, community projects, sport and healthy living, (we also like a glass of wine), only sing Jerusalem on special occasions and you don’t have to be able to make Jam or Cakes.  You can be as involved as much or as little as you want.  Montacute WI is part of the Somerset County Federation of WI’s they also organise many events for the County, such as the County quiz, 10 pin bowling, rambling, painting, croquet and holidays, 2020 will see some Somerset members off to Austria.  The Women’s Institute also has its own residential College.  Courses at Denman last between one and four nights, although non-residential day courses are also offered.  Course subjects include the arts, crafts, music, history, sport and technology.  Denman is also the home of the WI Cookery School.  We are always looking for new members over the age of 18 and you will receive a warm welcome.
